The Muir Park Residences

2900 Yonge Street

2900 Yonge Street, also known as the Muir Park Residences, is a superbly-designed condo building in the heart of Lawrence Park, Toronto. Completed in 1987, the 9-storey complex was developed by Costain Limited, is managed by Brookfield Residential Services, and is located near the intersection of Yonge Street and Lawrence Avenue, a prime location with close proximity to a litany of fantastic restaurants, shops, and grocery stores.

The all brick and glass building houses 72 gorgeous suites and provides its residents with a number of amenities including a 24-hour concierge, central air conditioning, a game room, a security system, a fully-equipped fitness centre, an indoor pool, a sauna, storage lockers, a recreation room, 2 underground parking spots, visitor parking, and a rooftop garden.

The modern and immaculate suites range from 1,470 to 3,786 square feet in living space, and boast a beautiful marble foyer that open to capacious dining and living areas, a large kitchen with a breakfast nook and a built-in dishwasher, ensuite bathroom with framed mirrors, all window coverings, ensuite laundry, and a wood burning fireplace. By virtue of large windows, units are bright with plenty of sunlight.

The appeal of the residences is augmented by the neighbourhood. Bound by Lawrence Avenue to the north, Blythwood Ravine to the south, Bayview Avenue to the east, and Yonge Street to west, Lawrence Park is one of the wealthiest neighbourhoods in the entire country.

The area’s beginnings date back to the 1880’s when it was first developed by the Metropolitan Street Railway. In 1907, the assembly of Lawrence Park was started by the Dovercourt Land Building And Saving Company. The land, which was part of a park, was bought from John Lawrence, hence the Lawrence Park name.

Following the purchase, the area was developed to become a suburb for the wealthy. However, home building in the neighbourhood got off to a slow start as the country dealt with 2 world wars and a depression. In the late 1950’s, Lawrence Park was finally completed.

Today, home architecture in the area consists of a variety of styles including Tudor Revival, Georgian, Colonial, and English Cottage. The average home sale price in the area, as of 2011, is just under $2.5 million. Only Bridle Path has a higher average.

The residences at 2900 Yonge Street personify luxurious urban living at its best. From building design and amenities to fabulous suites to prime location, residents of Muir Park are the envy of many.
