The Thornwood

20, 25 Scrivener Square

Synonymous with grandeur and luxury, the Thornwood is a 2-tower condo complex located a 20 and 25 Scrivener Square in exclusive Rosedale, Toronto. The towers are known as the Thornwood I and II, were completed in 2002 and 2003 respectively, and were built by Cresford Developments, a Toronto real estate development giant with a long and vast experience in the industry.

Other landmarks built by Cresford include Windermere by the Lake at 93 The Queensway, the Lofts 399 at 399 Adelaide Street West, the Quad Lofts on Brant Street, CASA at 45 Charles Street East, and many others.

Thornwood I is 10 storeys high and houses 163 suites while Thornwood II rises up 13 storeys and is home to 146 units. Residents of the luxurious complex enjoy an extremely well-maintained exterior that includes professionally designed landscaping, as well as a number of amenities such as a 24-hour concierge, a fitness centre, hotel style guest suites, bicycle storage racks, a security system, underground parking, a party room that opens onto a large terrace with tables and barbecue setup, a billiards room, and valet parking.

Upon entering the building, guests are greeted by a splendid, Gluckstein-designed lobby and a superbly appointed reception area.

Not to be outdone, the contemporary and extravagant suites are nothing short of stunning. They vary in size, and boast differing features as many units were custom-designed to satisfy the discerning style and taste of future owners. Most suites feature 9-foot high smooth ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows filling the units with plenty of light, and stylish finishes. Some units have ceilings that reach 11 feet in height, and come complete with large balconies and direct access elevators. Floor level residences feature private patios.

As if outstanding tower design and sumptuous suite features weren’t enough to make the complex a virtual dream come true for condo lovers, its location happens to be in one of Toronto’s most opulent neighbourhoods. Consisting of an area that is bound by Yonge Street to the west, Bayview Avenue to the east, the Canadian Pacific railway tracks to the north, and Bloor Street to the south, Rosedale is known as the area where the city’s old money lives.

Located adjacently north of hectic downtown Toronto, the neighbourhood is a remarkably quiet community with small, winding, tree-lined streets that keep traffic levels to a minimum. Dwellings in the area consist mainly of single family detached homes with a sprinkle of condo structures and townhomes.
